Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 29, 2026
PickFido is a product operated by FieldService Capital, LLC (“FieldService Capital”, “we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, the legal basis for processing it, and your choices.
Data Controller
FieldService Capital, LLC is the data controller responsible for any personal data processed through PickFido. You can reach us at hello@pickfido.com.
Information We Collect
- Quiz responses: Your answers to our breed-match quiz are stored locally in your browser so you can resume where you left off. They are not sent to our servers unless you explicitly opt in (e.g. by entering your email).
- Account data: If you create an account, we store your email address, a hashed password (managed by our authentication provider), and your saved favorites, comparisons, and purchase history.
- Email address: If you choose to receive quiz results or product downloads by email, we store your email and the relevant content references.
- Purchase data: When you buy a digital product, we store the product purchased, transaction ID, and purchase timestamp. Payment card details are never handled or stored by us — see “Payment processing” below.
- Usage data: We may collect anonymous analytics (pages visited, clicks, device type, approximate region from IP) to improve the service.
How We Use Information
- To provide and improve the breed-matching experience.
- To deliver digital products and account features you have requested.
- To send you the results, receipts, or download links you requested.
- To prevent fraud and secure the service.
- To understand which features are useful and which are not.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the UK or EEA, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide accounts, deliver purchased digital products, and respond to support requests.
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the service (e.g. anonymous analytics and fraud prevention), where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent — for any optional marketing emails or non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation — to keep transaction records as required by tax and accounting laws.
Payment Processing
Payments on PickFido are processed by Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”), our payment processor. When you check out, Stripe collects and processes your payment details (card number, billing address, tax information) directly as an independent data controller for that data; PickFido never sees or stores your full card number. We receive only a transaction ID, the product purchased, your email, and basic billing country for tax, fraud, and record-keeping purposes. FieldService Capital, LLC remains the seller and merchant of record for all purchases. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy for details on their handling of payment data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Stripe — payment processing, subscription management, fraud prevention, tax calculation, and invoicing.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to operate the website, database, and email delivery.
- Analytics providers — for anonymous usage statistics.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.
Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active and for up to 12 months after deletion, then anonymized or deleted.
- Purchase and transaction records: retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
- Support emails: retained for up to 2 years.
- Anonymous analytics: retained for up to 26 months.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest for our managed database, hashed passwords, access controls and least-privilege permissions for staff, and regular review of our service providers’ security posture. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard practices.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage to save your quiz progress and essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we add analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will display a consent banner.
Your Rights
You may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@pickfido.com. UK/EEA users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete.
International Transfers
We and our service providers may process your data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate safeguards.
Children
PickFido is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent changes.
